Holland had been sent off by referee Raymond Crangle after hauling down Andy Waterworth as the much improved Glens striker made up two yards on the defender, passed him and honed in on goal. Andy would surely have scored and the red card was the correct decision. Instead of capitalising on the advantage the Glens went a goal down seven minutes later when Devlin’s long kick out hit Joe Gormley on the back and, luckily for him, perfectly for him to loop the ball over Elliott Morris and into the net. The Glens had long periods of possession, but couldn’t turn it into goals until the 69th minute when the ball fell for Stephen Carson to score from about ten yards after Colin Nixon and keeper Devlin collided. The game saw a total of nine yellow cards as well as Holland’s dismissal. A dirty game I hear you say. Certainly not. I cannot remember a bad foul. Raymond Crangle seemed to produce the card at every opportune moment. Pity we can’t ask him for his thoughts. The TMen found Alan to be a very friendly man who took time to talk to us and was very thankful of what we did for the club. We are shocked by the news.
